Booksy offers something valuable: a consumer marketplace where people can discover your business and book appointments online. If you are building your client base, that exposure can be worth paying for.
But if you already have an established client list and attract most of your customers through referrals, social media, or repeat business, you may not need every service that comes with a marketplace-based booking platform.
The question is whether you still need those services to run your business.
Booksy charges a monthly subscription, with additional fees for extra staff members. Its optional Boost program also charges a commission on qualifying first visits from new clients acquired through Boost.
The important distinction is that Boost is optional. Not every new client booking through Booksy generates a commission, and customers booking through your own direct booking link are treated differently from those acquired through Boost.
For current subscription prices, additional staff fees, and Boost commission terms, see Booksy's official pricing page .
Marketplace commissions. Boost can help attract new customers, but its commission adds to your customer acquisition costs. If you already generate most of your own business, consider how much additional value marketplace promotion provides.
Your customers can discover competitors. Booksy's consumer app allows customers to browse and compare businesses. That can help new customers find you, but it also means your existing customers can discover other providers while using the platform.
Access to your customer records. Before switching platforms, confirm how to obtain a complete copy of your client information and appointment history. Make sure you understand which records can be exported, what format they are provided in, and whether you need assistance from the platform's support team.
No marketplace commissions. Book Visit Now does not operate a consumer marketplace or charge you for acquiring, booking, or retaining clients.
No competing businesses in your booking workflow. Your appointments are managed directly in Book Visit Now. There is no consumer marketplace where clients browse competing salons while scheduling with you.
Your client information stays accessible. Book Visit Now integrates with Apple Contacts, allowing you to use your existing contacts rather than maintaining an entirely separate client directory. Your Book Visit Now client records and appointment history remain accessible on the free plan, even if you discontinue your Pro subscription.
One subscription, all included features. Book Visit Now includes appointment scheduling, multiple providers, client management, treatment notes, client photos, service and product management, invoicing, and business reporting without separate feature subscriptions.
Free for up to ten active clients. The free plan includes every feature, with no time limit. Pro removes the active-client limit for $24.99 a month.
Book Visit Now includes an Appointment Notification Center that makes it easy to keep clients informed about their upcoming appointments. Review upcoming appointments and send clients notifications using your Apple device's built-in messaging capabilities, without purchasing a separate reminder service or monthly message credits.
Notifications are sent manually rather than automatically, so you remain in control of when and how you contact your clients. There is no additional Book Visit Now charge for using the Notification Center, although your mobile carrier's standard messaging rates may apply.
Book Visit Now is not a direct replacement for every service Booksy provides.
There is no online self-booking. Clients cannot independently book appointments through a website or consumer app. You create and manage appointments yourself.
There is no integrated payment processing, online deposit collection, or automatic no-show charge. You will need a separate payment provider if your business requires those services.
Book Visit Now is designed for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It does not offer an Android app or browser-based access.
Staff members do not receive separate individual logins with independent account permissions.
There is also no consumer marketplace to introduce your business to new customers. You are responsible for attracting your own clients.
These differences matter. Booksy provides services that Book Visit Now does not, and businesses that depend on those services should account for them before switching.
Book Visit Now does not replace those capabilities. If they are essential to your daily operations, switching would require additional services or changes to how you manage your business.
If your clients are already saved in Apple Contacts, you can use those contacts when setting up Book Visit Now.
If your customer information is stored primarily in Booksy, obtain a copy of your client records before canceling your subscription. Confirm that the exported information includes the contact details you need and retain a separate copy of your appointment history.
Import your client information into Apple Contacts, then set up your clients, services, providers, and appointments in Book Visit Now.
Your Apple Contacts can provide a starting point for your client directory, but importing contacts does not automatically transfer your complete Booksy appointment history, treatment records, or other business data.
